FanDuel Price: $3,100
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Philadelphia is projected for the second-lowest implied team total tonight, so don't expect daily fantasy players to go out of their way to get Maikel Franco in their lineups tonight.
Why You Should Use Him:
Franco appeared to be injured initially after making a diving catch, so monitor his status as we get closer to game time. If in the lineup, Franco is in line to build on the impressive numbers he put up leading into the All-Star Break. Franco has looked like a completely different hitter over the past month, posting a .305 batting average, .403 wOBA, .600 slugging percentage, and 40.3 percent hard-hit rate, along with a lowered strikeout rate and raised walk rate.
Franco will have a good chance to build on those numbers in tonight's matchup against lefty Wei-Yin Chen. Chen has a 4.90 ERA on the year a 6.00 ERA over his past seven starts. He has also pitched worse against righties in his career, posting a 4.25 xFIP against them.
Franco has hit righties better in his career but has hit better against lefties this season, posting a 34 percent hard-hit rate against them.
You're not going to find a third baseman with as much upside as Franco at his price, making him one of the best tournament plays on the board tonight if he's in the lineup.
