4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 8/1/16
Outfield is full of appealing plays tonight, which should leave Franklin Gutierrez underowned, even in a great matchup. Who else will fly under the radar in daily fantasy baseball?

Franklin Gutierrez, OF, Seattle Mariners

FanDuel Price: $3,500

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

There are several appealing outfield options tonight, and Franklin Gutierrez likely won't even be the most popular play on his own team with daily fantasy players instead focusing on Nelson Cruz.

Why You Should Use Him:

Gutierrez has reached base seven times in three games since returning from a neck injury, including blasting his 10th homer of the year. He'll look to build on his recent success in tonight's righty-lefty matchup against Eduardo Rodriguez.

Rodriguez has a 6.51 ERA on the year and has posted worse numbers against righties in his career, seeing his xFIP jump from 4.11 against lefties to 4.49 against righties.

Gutierrez has crushed left-handed pitching in his career, posting much improved numbers across the board. Last season, he posted an obscene 44.2 percent hard-hit rate against them, which has risen to 49.4 percent this season.

Gutierrez is a boom-or-bust option that is likely better suited for tournaments. He's always worth a look in tournaments against a lefty and is intriguing in all formats when it's a lefty who has struggled as much as Rodriguez has this season.
