3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 9/27/19
Aaron Judge has been crushing the ball lately, and with a lefty on the mound, he could fire up a big score tonight. Who else should you pay up for?

Just like in other sports, the focal point of your daily fantasy baseball lineups will be your high-priced studs. These guys take up by far the biggest chunk of your cap space, but they also offer the highest ceiling, and in the case of pitcher, by far the highest floors for production.

For hitters, we're looking for guys with big numbers, strong matchups, and with players around them that are likely to produce well too, increasing our chances for runs and RBI. For pitchers, we want big strikeout numbers, while the ability to go deep in a game and pick up a win is also valuable.

Taking up so much salary, and playing such a big role in your lineup's ceiling, you're not going to want to whiff on these guys, so let's take a look at a few top-end options that you can count on to anchor your lineup today.

James Paxton, SP, New York Yankees ($9,800)

Ten.

James Paxton has won ten starts in a row, but he still isn't the highest-priced ace on this slate. That's a mistake.

More recently, Paxton has been absolutely dominant. In his last six starts, he has recorded a 1.24 ERA and 0.77 WHIP, including 44 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings. That'll play.

He faces a Texas Rangers that strikes out a ton (25.5%), so roster Paxton with confidence in this spot.

Aaron Judge, OF, New York Yankees ($4,500)

Aaron Judge just keeps homering at this point, and with a southpaw on the mound, it could happen again tonight.

When a guy hits 26 home runs, it's hard to label them disappointing -- but that's what this season feels like for Judge in the year of the home run. However, that strained oblique, which cost Judge two months, is a big part of that low total.

And Judge absolutely hammers lefties. Over the last three seasons, he has yet to post an OPS under .935 in the split, and this season, he's ratcheted up that prowess to a 1.124 OPS and .657 slugging percentage with the platoon advantage.

Roster Judge and don't look back.

Nolan Arenado, 3B, Colorado Rockies ($4,600)

In his last 13 games to close out a tough 2019 season for the Colorado Rockies, Nolan Arenado has hit double-digit FanDuel points nine times despite the fact that he's been on the road more recently.

Now playing in Denver, he could really go off. Arenado has a nice matchup with Zach Davies, who has posted a 4.83 ERA over his last nine starts. In that span, he's got a paltry 25 strikeouts in 41 innings while allowing seven home runs.

Davies, the owner of a 38.1% hard-hit rate allowed, could be in for trouble tonight at Coors.
