Ranking All 30 NBA Franchises From 2000-01 to 2015-16 Using Advanced Analytics
According to the numbers, which franchises have been the best since the turn of the century?

6. Phoenix Suns

To say the Phoenix Suns haven't been very successful lately would be a true statement.

In the past six years, with four coaches and interim coaches, the franchise has failed to reach the playoffs and finished over .500 just once. But, before 2010, the team seemed to be ahead of the curve in analytics and offensive emphasis.

Through the coaching styles of Alvin Gentry and particularly Mike D'Antoni, the Suns made the conference finals in four of six seasons. Based off of those seasons, Phoenix ranks second in effective field goal percentage and fourth in offensive rating.

They weren't known for defense -- ranking 21st among all teams -- but the high-powered offenses place them seventh in nERD and sixth with a composite of 43.
