FanDuel Price: $6,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
The point guard position is loaded on Wednesday, which should keep Elfrid Payton's ownership down.
Russell Westbrook and Kemba Walker will square off and should both be popular. Goran Dragic is coming off a big game and is locked into huge minutes against the Sacramento Kings. Darren Collison and Malcolm Brogdon both will take on larger roles due to injuries and are sure to be popular value plays.
Why You Should Use Him:
Payton rebounded from back-to-back clunkers with a 41.6 FanDuel point performance against the New York Knicks on Monday, which was much more in line with the 34.6 FanDuel points he averaged in the four games prior to those two duds. Despite coming off the bench, Payton is still getting a lot of playing time, averaging 30 minutes over his past seven games.
He gets a juicy matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, who have allowed the second-most FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards. He'll spend the majority of his minutes being defended by Dennis Schroder, who ranks 80th among 86 qualified points guards in defensive real plus-minus.
In his last meeting with Atlanta, Payton posted a 26-point, 14-assist line on his way to 52.6 FanDuel points.
Due to the fact that he comes off the bench for an Orlando team with an implied total of just 101 points, Payton will get ignored. However, his price has yet to catch up with his production, and the matchup provides him with elite upside.
