FanDuel Price: $8,400
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
DeMarcus Cousins is sure to be a popular option in his first meeting with the Sacramento Kings since they traded him away. Other top-end options in Rudy Gobert and Nikola Vucevic also have played quite well recently and will be on the daily fantasy radar.
Hassan Whiteside is likely to be the least popular of the four upper-end centers, as he struggled against tonight's opponent, the New York Knicks, in his most recent game.
Why You Should Use Him:
Whiteside has posted back-to-back pedestrian lines, but was on quite a roll in the seven games prior to that, averaging 43.4 FanDuel points. While most will shy away from him due to recency bias, this might actually present an excellent opportunity to buy low, as he finds himself in a terrific spot against the Knicks.
While Whiteside posted just 30.3 FanDuel points against New York two nights ago, he has shown the ability to put up huge numbers in this matchup by putting up 49.3 FanDuel points in their first meeting. Given the fact that New York has surrendered the third-most FanDuel points to opposing centers, that performance definitely appears repeatable.
The Knicks have really seen a dip in their numbers against opposing bigs since they moved Guillermo Hernangomez into a starting role, which should come as no surprise -- he ranks 51st among centers in defensive real plus-minus (DRPM).
Whiteside's recent struggles are enough to eliminate him from cash-game consideration on such a large slate, but we all know the type of upside he possesses. He is a terrific bounce-back option in tournaments, where he will carry low ownership.
