FanDuel Price: $7,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
It should come as no surprise considering tonight's 11-game slate, but the point guard position is loaded. Jeff Teague is coming off an 11.7-FanDuel-point dud and isn't likely to be in many FanDuel lineups in a so-so on-paper matchup.
Why You Should Use Him:
Even in a tough matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, Teague's dud came as a surprise considering he had topped 37 FanDuel points in four of his five previous games. Similar to Whiteside, though, we may be able to benefit from his poor performance, as we get a chance to target him at a discounted price tag and ownership.
Teague is no stranger to volatile game-to-game performances, but the upside is definitely there. According to our ceiling/floor tool, no point guard priced over $6,000 has a higher ceiling value rating than Teague does on Friday.
While most wouldn't expect a pace-down game against the Toronto Raptors to be what causes Teague to reach his elite ceiling, their season numbers against point guards are not representative of their current ability to defend the position. With elite defender Kyle Lowry sidelined, Toronto has turned to Cory Joseph at point guard, who ranks 80th at the position in DRPM.
Teague has enough volatility to his game that he is a tough sell for cash games, but his big-time potential is worth a look in tournaments.
