2017 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: How Should the First Round Play Out?
The Philadelphia 76ers will likely make Markelle Fultz the top pick in Thursday's Draft. Who do the numbers tell us should go next?

9. Dallas Mavericks: Zach Collins, PF/C

Team needs: Center production, inside scoring, rim protection.

Dallas is a bit handcuffed until they know whether they'll re-sign free agent Nerlens Noel. If they're willing to bet on him returning, the Mavericks could look to draft point guard, but with a level of uncertainty why not add one of the best players available in Gonzaga's Zach Collins.

At seven feet tall, Collins' skill-set makes a lot of sense for the Mavs. While he's shown that he can block shots (5.8 per 100 possessions), Collins also demonstrated he can step out and hit the three (10-of-21 this past season).

Collins is the type of center teams are looking for in today's game. To pass up on him here would be a mistake, especially when you consider Dallas' lousy center production.
