5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays for 12/29/17
Injuries to the Lakers' frontcourt should benefit Larry Nance. Who else makes for a cheap play on Friday's nine-game slate?

Kelly Oubre, SF, Washington Wizards

FanDuel Price: $4,400
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.6
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.91

With early-season injuries to Markieff Morris and John Wall, Kelly Oubre has been a crucial piece of the Washington Wizards' rotation this season. Even with the Wizards returning to something resembling 100% health, he's played his way into 29 minutes per game over his last nine. His versatility allows him to play alongside Otto Porter at small forward or slide to power forward when the Wiz go small and push the tempo.

On Friday, Washington will be somewhat shorthanded with Mike Scott sitting this one out for personal reasons. It might be easy to overlook that note and think nothing of it, but Scott's averaging 19.0 minutes, 7.0 field goal attempts, and 9.6 points per game off the Wizards' bench. He's been a big part of what Washington does at the end of quarters, and he's provided depth that's allowed Oubre to play a lot of his minutes with the first unit.

Without Scott, Oubre could be forced to play a few more minutes than he has been. That could especially pay off against a thin Houston Rockets (99.2 possessions per 48) team playing at pace more than two possessions faster than the Wizards (97.1). If Vegas is right, this should be the highest-scoring game of the night, carrying an over/under of 220.5. It's a game made for somebody in Oubre's role.
