5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays for 12/29/17
Injuries to the Lakers' frontcourt should benefit Larry Nance. Who else makes for a cheap play on Friday's nine-game slate?

Wayne Ellington, SG, Miami Heat

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 22.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.88

Of all the players on Friday's slate, there might not be one with more going for him than Wayne Ellington. His coach is singing his praises, he's getting substantial minutes -- 31.4 in the last nine -- due to injuries, and he has a great matchup against the Brooklyn Nets.

As a team, the Heat are expected to score 106.25 points as 6.5-point favorites. Our models like Ellington to play 31.7 minutes and finish as a top-two point-per-dollar play at shooting guard -- and the numbers explain why.

Per Cleaning the Glass, the Nets rank last in the NBA as it pertains to the frequency of opponent shots taken from the long midrange (19.9%) and the midrange overall (40.6%). Those ranks carry over to opponent field goal percentage from those spots, too. Considering Ellington takes 36% and 46% of his attempts from those areas, he should be able to enjoy a nice shooting night en route to a valuable fantasy performance.
