Thanks to a leaky roof in New Orleans, Rajon Rondo didn't quite pay off as one of my suggestions on Wednesday night. But on Friday, we're going to try this again, because Rondo's in an even better spot than he was two days ago.
With DeMarcus Cousins out, Rondo's minutes have hit 30 or more twice in his last three games. He's also turned in at least 33.6 FanDuel points in both of those, and without Boogie, his per-minute average sits at 1.19 FanDuel points on the year. In 38 minutes with new addition Nikola Mirotic, that jumps to 1.22 FanDuel points per minute.
It might have hurt a few of you, but the fact that Rondo didn't end up playing on Wednesday is probably the most encouraging factor heading into tonight's contest. At 31, rest has been key to him playing a larger, more effective role. With three-plus days off this season, he's averaging 28.8 FanDuel points with 11.2 assists in 24.8 minutes per game. It's a prime spot for him to exceed value in what's expected to be a tight, high-scoring game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
