Two games ago, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra decided to start James Johnson at small forward over Justise Winslow. After 10 straight starts, Winslow made the move to the bench but has played much better since. Over those last two games, Winslow has averaged 36.4 FanDuel points in 29.1 minutes. Producing with minutes is nothing new to Winslow, though.
When Winslow has logged 30 or more minutes this season, he's averaged 11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals (31.7 FanDuel points per game). In his reserve role, it appears that his playing time will sit around the 30-minute mark, give or take a few. And, in recent games, Winslow's been much more efficient with his time, producing 1.06 FanDuel points per minute on 50% shooting since the break (per NBAWowy!).
Tonight's matchup with Otto Porter, Kelly Oubre and the Washington Wizards disguises itself as a tough one for Winslow. While Porter is near the top of ESPN's Defensive Real Plus Minus, Oubre isn't so high by his defensive efforts. A potential bench-versus-bench matchup with Oubre will be to Winslow's advantage, especially with the Wiz ranked 30th in terms of fantasy production against this season.
