Power forward is a tough place to find value with confidence. Of all the players below $5,000, our models don't expect a single one to play more than 26 minutes. If you're targeting anyone in that price range, though, Dragan Bender is the guy to pursue as he's averaging 34 minutes per game over the last four.
According to Basketball Reference, Bender has played 76% of his minutes at power forward and 24% of them as the Phoenix Suns ' backup center this season. And, as we head down the stretch, it looks like he's a lock for 25 or more minutes in that role. Tyson Chandler isn't in the team's future plans, and Alex Len has been battling injuries all season, so why not get the 20-year-old more experience down the stretch.
Like a lot of young players, Bender isn't always productive with his minutes. Less than a week ago, he played a bit more than 36 minutes but failed to score a single real-life point against tonight's opponent, the Oklahoma City Thunder. But he saved his night with six rebounds, four assists and a block.
In fact, in the last five, Bender has four games with at least four assists. His usage rate is down, but his assist rate (18.6%) has doubled and his FanDuel points per game (20.8) are up by more than six. If you're stacking this high-paced game, Bender is the low-priced option you want to have in there with guys like Devin Booker, Paul George and Russell Westbrook.
