The New Orleans Pelicans have been walloped with injuries recently. Anthony Davis, Nikola Mirotic, Julius Randle, and E'Twaun Moore all scheduled to sit out on Tuesday against the Houston Rockets. All the injuries, especially to the frontcourt, have opened up a mountain of playing time for Darius Miller.
The Pelicans' forward has averaged 28.8 minutes in January. Over the last three games, he has seen that total bumped up to 31.2 per game. Miller wasn’t sitting idle on the court, either, as he took 12.3 shots per game while averaging 13.7 points and 3.7 rebounds. Despite shooting just 37.8% from the field, Miller collected at least 20 FanDuel points in two of his last three games. Facing a struggling Rockets defense on Tuesday, he has an excellent chance to reach the 21.0 FanDuel points he needs to achieve value.
The Rockets have given up an average of 116.6 points in their last 10 games, with opponents shooting 47.9% from the field. That soft D can be a boon for Miller, especially as he acts as the third scoring option on a depleted New Orleans squad. Miller racked up 34.4 FanDuel points last Thursday, when all four of the previously mentioned Pels sat out.
