This past week, the Chicago Bulls diagnosed their starting small forward Chandler Hutchison with a right foot injury that will cost him at least two weeks. His absence opens the door for the recently acquired Wayne Selden Jr. to see significant playing time.
On Sunday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, Selden got the start in place of Hutchison, seeing slightly more than 37 minutes of action. He stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block for 31.7 FanDuel points. Selden connected on three shots from beyond the arc, a skill much needed on the Bulls as they rank 28th with just 9.3 made threes per game this season.
Selden’s performance undoubtedly earned him another start on Tuesday, albeit in a more difficult matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. If Selden plays at least 30 minutes on Tuesday, he will need to score just 0.63 FanDuel points per minute to reach 5.0 fantasy points per $1,000 of salary. That is a rate that is well below a league-average clip, and it is easily doable for Selden, no matter the opponent.
