8 Players Who Can Take Over the NCAA Tournament
Who has the chance to cement his name as the next legend of March?

A.J. English, Iona Gaels

In case you haven't noticed, there's a trend here: only one of the five proceeding players aren't seniors. Number six, the lesser-known A.J. English, is no different.

The 23-year-old English is the unquestioned leader of his team and one of the best players in the country. He scores (22.4 points per game), passes (6.2 assists per game), and rebounds (5.0 per game), and he even snatches 1.5 steals per game. In fact, English has been one of the most all-around productive players of the past six years.

Since Sports-Reference started keeping track of Points Produced Per Game (PProd/G), English ranks 17th among all players in career PProd/G.

That's consistent production, but what English likely needs are a couple of big games to get Iona past Iowa State and (likely) Purdue in the first and second rounds. He has shown the ability to do just that, with six 30-plus point games and two 40-plus point performances on the season, so don't be surprised if there's an upset at the hands of English and the Gaels.
