FanDuel Price: $8,700
Projected Points: 22.89
At a projected 51 points, the New Orleans Saints' matchup against the Oakland Raiders this week is tied for the highest over/under of Week 1. New Orleans is favored by 1.5 points, so the close line suggests that Drew Brees will keep throwing throughout the entire game.
Brees had the sixth-most fantasy points in the league last year, and his 0.24 Passing NEP per drop back also ranked sixth among all quarterbacks who dropped back to pass at least 100 times. He also had the fifth-most fantasy points per drop back among all quarterbacks in 2015, but one of his most compelling stats is his home/away splits: Brees averaged 32.12 points per game in the Superdome last year, compared to only 19.02 on the road.
Now, he’ll be in what is projected to be a shootout against the Raiders' defense that allowed the ninth-most fantasy points of any team to quarterbacks last season.
Brees will likely be highly owned due to the high implied total in this game, but as our second highest projected player, he is worthy of the selection.
