Plugging the Gaps: IDP Waiver Wire for Week 2
Don't get caught up in the recency bias: Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is still really good in IDP fantasy football.

Da’Norris Searcy, Strong Safety

My ideal streaming defensive back is a strong safety on an underdog team. Why, you might ask? Strong safeties play in the box, close to the line on early downs, meaning they get to assist the linebackers with making stops in the rushing game a ton; closer to the play means more chances for action. If their team is expected to lose, we can reasonably expect that late in the game the opposition will try to kill the clock and control the ball by rushing it a ton. That’s why DaNorris Searcy of the Tennessee Titans makes for the perfect streaming defensive back in Week 2.

With his Titans a six-point underdog to the Detroit Lions this week, Searcy should rightfully expect to be facemask-to-facemask with running back Ameer Abdullah a ton in Week 2. The Lions even allowed the 11th-highest stuff percentage in Week 1, meaning Searcy could find himself knifing through the Detroit line for a few bonus big plays on top of very sound tackle volume.

Searcy is available in 100.0% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 5.81 tackles, 0.20 interceptions, 0.24 passes defended, and a total score of 7.63 fantasy points in Week 2.
