DeAngelo Williams is another holdover from last week, and just like Brees, he proved to be worthy -- his 29.10 fantasy points were the most among all non-quarterbacks in Week 1.
Le'Veon Bell is still suspended, and Williams has moved up one spot into being our highest projected fantasy running back for Week 2. With 26 rushing attempts and 9 targets, he led the NFL with 52.24% of his team’s opportunities in the season opener. He accounted for 86.67% of Pittsburgh’s carries – more than any other running back – and handled all of his team’s red zone carries.
This week, Williams draws the Cincinnati Bengals, who allowed Matt Forte to rack up 96 yards rushing and 59 yards receiving in Week 1. Williams’ 21.10 fantasy points against Cincy in Week 14 last season was the second-highest total the Bengals allowed to an opposing running back all year. In his other meeting with the Bengals, in Week 8 last season, Williams racked up 110 total yards on only 13 touches.
