David Johnson is another holdover from last week’s column, and he did not disappoint in Week 1. He finished with 19.20 fantasy points on 20 touches, and Johnson received 84.21% of the Arizona Cardinals’ carries – the third highest percentage among all running backs. He turned his 16 carries into 89 yards and 1 touchdown while adding another 43 yards on 4 receptions.
Only once in 2015 did a running back score more fantasy points against the New England Patriots than Johnson did last week.
For Week 2, the Cardinals have the third-highest implied total (28.25 points) and are favored by 6.5 points. According to Rotoviz’s Game Splits App, when Arizona was favored last season and Johnson received at least 10 carries, he averaged 19.27 fantasy points per game -- although the sample size is small. The game script is set up for Johnson to have another big week.
