The NFL is a wild place. If I was a Broncos fan, I’d be losing my mind in joy over this team this year, especially after a Week 2 drubbing of the Colts. The Colts’ defense is nothing to be frightened of, but it’s not every day that you see seventh-round sophomore Trevor Siemian outperform first overall pick and franchise savior Andrew Luck. Facing the vaunted Broncos’ defense, Luck was a scattershot mess all day, completing just over 50 percent of his passes for fewer than 200 yards.
One of his incompletions was a lucky break for Denver cornerback Aqib Talib, though. Talib was playing well off the line of scrimmage but followed wide receiver Phillip Dorsett's route inside to the middle of the field. Luck was forced to make a quick decision thanks to the Broncos’ pass rush and rifled it to Dorsett. Talib, mirroring Dorsett’s movements, saw this and ripped the ball away from Dorsett before he could secure it, slipping his way back around the pursuing Colts’ offense for a 46-yard touchdown return.
