5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 2
Washington's run game is nearly non-existent, and Minnesota's has struggles, as well. What should you know about them?

The Vikings Are Averaging a League-Worst 1.90 Yards Per Carry

Adrian Peterson, who leads the team with 31 carries, has plodded his way to a measly 50 rushing yards, and is yet to find the end zone through the first two games.

His 5.70 fantasy points are easily his lowest total through the first two games of any of his 10 seasons -- and that includes 2014 when he only played Week 1 -- and his -8.93 Rushing NEP is worse than anyone in the league beside James Starks.

Peterson has been playing behind a lackluster offensive line that has led to his averaging only 0.1 yards before contact, and he hasn’t been helped by his team’s schedule either. The Minnesota Vikings’ opponents this season have yet to allow any running back to top 40 yards on the ground against them.

To make things worse, Peterson now has a torn meniscus, and the Vikings will have to lean on Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata to get their rushing attack back on track. On a combined 13 carries, those two have averaged 2.69 yards per carry thus far.
