Plugging the Gaps: IDP Waiver Wire for Week 5
Akiem Hicks woke up in Week 4, with two quarterback hits and a sack. Can he do it again?

Adrian Amos, Free Safety

I’m recommending a lot of Bears and Colts this week because I expect this matchup to be an ugly shootout. The Vegas over/under for this matchup is 47.5, the fourth-highest matchup of the week, and the Colts are in line for the sixth-highest implied total of the week to boot. When the Colts throw the fourth-most of any team in the league, that means lots of downfield attempts for Chicago Bears free safety Adrian Amos to clean up.

Amos notched seven total tackles last week against the Detroit Lions, another pass-happy team, and we could easily see him repeat this feat in Week 5. Luck owns just the 17th-ranked interception rate in the league, so big plays may be few and far between. The tackle base and chances for passes defended should be enough to stabilize Amos this week, though.

Amos is available in 99.3% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 5.80 tackles, 0.14 interceptions, 0.16 passes defended, and a total score of 7.10 fantasy points in Week 5.
