Fantasy Football: 5 Historical Vegas Trends You Should Know for Week 8
What do the odds say about Week 8 for certain players -- like Andrew Luck's record as a home underdog -- and how can your fantasy teams benefit?

Start Cairo Santos as a Favorite

numberFire's Jim Sannes wrote a fantastic article in January on how kickers performed based on measures such as Vegas spreads, implied totals, and favorites versus underdogs. Based on his findings, we need to target kickers on teams that are heavily favored, with implied team total as the tiebreaker.

In Week 8, picking a kicker using these trends is difficult because no team is favored by more than 6.5 points. The kicker on the largest favorite is Stephen Gostkowski, who is the second-most expensive kicker on FanDuel. Therefore, we won't waste your time by recommending him.

Instead, we're going with Kansas City Chiefs' kicker Cairo Santos. The Chiefs have an implied total of 26.25 points, the third-highest on the weekend slate. Sannes found that kickers in the implied total range of 24-26.75 averaged 8.77 fantasy points per game from 2012-2014.

Santos is priced at $4,600, which is just $100 over the FanDuel minimum. Based on the Chiefs being favored, the rising total, and the game being played indoors, Santos is a perfect choice for all formats.
