Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
7 Receptions, 101 Yards, 10 Targets, 1 Touchdown
Performance: 89, NEP: +10.90
In a game riddled with injuries, Travis Kelce came through in a big way for the Chiefs, helping them get a road win against the Indianapolis Colts in a 30-14 victory. Kelce provided a reliable outlet for both Alex Smith and Nick Foles, catching 7 of 10 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Kelce was getting open with ease against this Colts' defense, routinely making catch after catch. He was able to make big plays all afternoon, but his biggest play of the day came on 2nd-and-6 from inside the Colts' red zone. Foles was able to find Kelce running a sharp post route and hit him in the end zone right between the two safeties. That play alone added +2.54 to Kelce's NEP Total for the game. This was just the third time in his career that Kelce was able to eclipse the 100-yard mark in receiving.
As noted by Brandon Gdula in his 20 Best Offensive Players from Week 8, Kelce's Reception NEP per target (1.09) was the highest of all players with 8 or more targets. Kelce now ranks in the top three in Reception, Target, and Total NEP among all tight ends on the season.
Kelce finished Week 8 as the overall TE3 in PPR scoring -- behind only Tyler Eifert and Jordan Reed. His performance this week moved him up to the overall TE5 on the season, and he is currently averaging 12.8 fantasy points per game.
