Amari Cooper, WR, Oakland Raiders
12 Receptions, 173 Yards, 15 Targets, 1 Touchdown
Performance: 95, NEP: +12.60
In a game flooded with penalties, Amari Cooper and Derek Carr were able to connect on big plays all day and overcome a whopping 23 penalties to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road in overtime. Cooper was a huge part of the Raiders' game plan, being targeted 15 times throughout the game. Cooper was able to haul in 12 receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown in his biggest game of the season.
This was an ugly game to watch, with Oakland repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot and accruing 200 yards in penalties. Cooper did everything he could to help his team overcome them, with 6 of his 12 receptions either going for a first down or a touchdown. He set career-high clips in targets, receptions and receiving yards. Cooper's most impactful play of the game came on 3rd-and-6 where Carr threw an absolute dime. Cooper was able to get behind the secondary and haul in a big 34-yard reception for the score, adding +4.69 to his NEP. Cooper now ranks sixth in Reception NEP and fifth in Target NEP.
Cooper finished the week as the overall WR1 in PPR scoring formats. He's been a top-12 wide receiver in three of the last four weeks. After a slow start to the season, Cooper now ranks as the overall WR3 in PPR formats. Only A.J. Green and Julio Jones have scored more fantasy points.
