The Minnesota Vikings have put on a defensive clinic this year, right alongside the Philadelphia Eagles. Zimmer has taken a young and promising defensive unit, with players like cornerback Xavier Rhodes, and molded them into a wrecking ball of sacks and turnovers. Rhodes himself has been used as a shadow cornerback this season on top receivers, so he sees plenty of targets (4.6 per game, per Pro Football Focus) and has turned those into two interceptions, seven passes defended, and 20 total tackles.
His week 10 opponent, Washington, has allowed an average 5.5 fantasy points to each of their opponents’ top three cornerbacks over their last three games. Quarterback Kirk Cousins may not have a high interception rate (14th-highest out of 33 passers with at least 100 attempts), but he has tossed at least one pick in six of his eighth games this year, including four of the last five. Rhodes will be an IDP colossus here.
Rhodes is available in 95.2% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 4.02 tackles, 0.26 interceptions, 0.82 passes defended, and a total score of 6.68 fantasy points in Week 10.
