Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes has gone from being a top-notch lockdown defender to a mere mortal in just a few years, but the slightly-built defensive back makes a great streaming option for Week 13. Why? Defensive backs are the one fantasy position where the better you are, the fewer points you score. Still, Grimes is just good enough to have earned startable status in nine of 11 games played this year, including each of his five most recent games. Per Pro Football Focus, Grimes had been targeted on 17 percent of his 345 coverage snaps going into Week 12, which he’s turned into two interceptions and has 15 passes defended.
His Week 13 matchup puts him against the San Diego Chargers’ Philip Rivers, who has the fifth-highest interception rate (3.00 percent) among current starting quarterbacks. San Diego calls an average amount of passing plays, ranking 17th in pass-to-run ratio. This should give Grimes yet another solid fantasy day.
Grimes is available in 97.4% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 3.66 tackles, 0.38 interceptions, 0.98 passes defended, and a total score of 7.20 fantasy points in Week 13.
