Charles Sims is a risky play, and it's definitely worth monitoring news on him as we get closer to Sunday. He is expected to return from the injured reserve this week as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the New Orleans Saints.
The Bucs have the highest implied total of the week (26.75, as of writing), and the Saints have a bottom-five defense overall, according to our metrics.
Sims and Doug Martin haven't seen a lot of overlap in terms of healthy games, but Sims is likely to at least see some passing-down work. He saw eight targets to Martin's five through the first two games of the season -- the only two in which they both played.
This game has a big 51-point over/under and a spread of only 2.5, meaning there's a good chance this turns into a shootout. The floor for Sims is very low, but this is a spot where, if the chips fall right and Tampa is forced to air it out, he has some tremendous upside, especially in point-per-reception leagues.
