Many will point to Chris Johnson's "CJ2K" season with the Tennessee Titans as the single best rushing season of this era. But, as exciting as it was, our metrics don't rate it quite that high. Still, it's among the best we've seen on this side of 2000.
In just his second year in the league, the speedy Johnson amassed 2,006 rushing yards -- the sixth-highest total all-time. He did so on a massive 358 carries, and Johnson added 14 touchdowns to the ledger. He averaged over 125 rushing yards per game, finishing first in the NFL in that category in 2009.
