The Arizona Cardinals are another team that should be put away early enough in Week 16, which means that inside linebacker Kevin Minter will get plenty of chances to attack the run this week.
Minter has been underwhelming in the tackle rate department, coming in fifth-lowest among the 59 inside linebackers to play at least 30 snaps per game, but he’s still been very valuable for IDP purposes. Why? Minter is playing a whopping 92 percent of his team’s snaps and has accrued a strong 74 total tackles through 14 games this year to go along with 7 stuffs and a career-high 3.5 sacks.
This week, that snap volume comes into play in a major way, as Minter faces the Seattle Seahawks. In this divisional test, the ‘Hawks could control the game and then run down the clock. Over their last three wins, the Seahawks have averaged just under 30 rushes per game. Add in that the Seahawks are allowing top-10 rates in both sacks and stuffs, and that kind of opportunity will feed right in Minter’s strong floor and intriguing ceiling this week.
Minter is available in 95.4% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 5.78 tackles, 0.26 sacks, 0.12 passes defended, and a total score of 6.92 fantasy points in Week 16.
