Plugging the Gaps: IDP Waiver Wire for Week 16
A.J. Klein is ready to help you put it all on the line in fantasy championship week.

Shawn Williams, Safety

It still boggles my mind that Cincinnati Bengals strong safety Shawn Williams is available in any league, let alone qualifies for this column. Williams has qualified as startable by our measures in 11 out of 14 weeks this year, and is averaging a strong 6.0 fantasy points per game -- 29th-best among safeties.

This week, the matchup aligns perfectly with his skillset: Williams gets to face the Houston Texans, who are the seventh-most run-heavy team in the league by play calling. Williams makes his fantasy hay with tackles, and the team calling the fourth-most raw run plays makes for a nice target for him.

Williams is available in 96.2% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 4.57 tackles, 0.14 interceptions, 0.16 passes defended, and a total score of 6.03 fantasy points in Week 16.
