Complete 2016 NFL Playoff and Seeding Odds Entering Week 17

Seattle Seahawks

Most likely seed: 3 (52.85%)

As you were probably able to surmise from the previous slide, the Seahawks' odds of snagging a first-round bye are largely in the Falcons' hands. That makes their range of outcomes a bit more narrow than that of Atlanta.

Their most likely seed right now is the 3 seed, which they are projected to land 52.85% of the time. They're at 30.06% odds for the 4 seed, and they would earn a first-round bye 17.09% of the time.

If we assume the Seahawks are able to defeat the 49ers (which the algorithms see happening 69.94% of the time), then things get a bit brighter. This would put the Seahawks at 24.43% odds of being the 2 seed and 75.57% odds of being the 3.

Because the Falcons/Saints game starts at the same time as the Seahawks', though, they won't have a confirmed seed by kickoff regardless of what happens earlier in the day. The Seahawks can be no lower than the 3 seed if they are able to win on Sunday.
