The 10 Best NFL Teams to Not Win a Super Bowl Since 2000
Which teams have fallen short of both expectations and the final prize?

6. 2008 Baltimore Ravens

nERD: 12.25

Once more, on the back of one the NFL's best defenses, the Ravens went 11-5 and entered the '08 playoffs as a wild card team. Yet again, they were led by Ray Lewis' 85 tackles, Ed Reed's nine picks and Terrell Suggs' 8.5 sacks.

Baltimore would defeat the Miami Dolphins in the wild card round, then go on to knock off the Tennessee Titans in the divisional round. After all that, they met a familiar division opponent in the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The defense gave Ben Roethlisberger fits, sacking him four times and holding him under 50% passing. However, the Pittsburgh defense took advantage of a 23-year-old Joe Flacco and turned him over on three occasions, defeating the Ravens 23-14. The Steelers, after all was said and done, won Super Bowl 43.
