The '04 Colts are another team to make it no further than the divisional round after playing an outstanding regular season. In Manning's seventh year, Indy went 12-4 and led the league in points per game (32.6).
Manning, armed with three 1,000-yard receivers -- Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stokley, completed 67.6% of his passes for a total of 4,557 yards and 49 touchdowns. And complimented by Edgerrin James in the backfield, this Colts team was one of the best offensive attacks we've seen this side of 2000.
Unfortunately, after disposing of the Denver Broncos in the wild card game, they ran into the New England Patriots. Against the league's second-best scoring defense, the Colts managed just three points while surrendering 20 to Tom Brady and company. The Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
