Ranking the Kickers Remaining in the NFL Playoffs
Kickers are often the afterthought -- until the spotlight hits them. Which playoff kicker has been the most reliable in 2016?

4. Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers

Stat Score Rank
Field Goal NEP 10.43 12
Field Goal NEP/Play 0.42 12
Late-Game NEP/Play -0.04 18

Chris Boswell improved his Field Goal NEP per play from 0.22 last season on 32 attempts to 0.42 on 25 attempts in 2016.

He also posted a worrisome -0.36 mark per play in late-game situations last season. This year, as you can see, he was again on the wrong side of zero in the fourth quarter and overtime.

He was 4 of 5 on field goal attempts in late-game situations, so it's not a big sample, but the miss came against the Patriots, a 56-yarder when the score was 27-16.

Boswell couldn't turn that into a one-score game, but he did go a perfect 16 for 16 on extra points after the third quarter this season (he was 36 for 36 on the full season on point after attempts).
