The 25 Best NFL Running Back Seasons in the Last 25 Years
Which running backs lay claim to the best single-season performances in recent history?

20. Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans (2009)

This is the season that saw Chris Johnson go from simply Chris Johnson to CJ2K. During his sophomore year in the league, the speedster ran for a league-leading 2,006 yards on 5.6 yards per rush attempt.

Johnson made it to the end zone on 14 occasions, but he was also a strong participant in the passing game, with 50 catches, 503 yards and 2 touchdowns for the 8-8 Tennessee Titans. Because of that, he also earned an AV of 19 for the year.
