Ranking All 10 Seasons of Barry Sanders' NFL Career
The Hall of Fame running back never had a bad year, but which one was the best?

7. 1989

AV: 13

In his rookie campaign, Sanders played 15 games and started 13, compiling 1,470 rushing yards, 282 receiving yards and 14 scores via the ground.

For comparison's sake, those numbers were close to Ezekiel Elliott's 2016 rookie season, in which he put up 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns. By AV alone, only four rookie backs have put together better seasons since 2000.

Rookie of the Year? You bet he was. With his quick cuts and dangerous speed, the young back was otherworldly on a per-rush basis (5.3 yards a carry) and manufactured 98.0 yards per game as he sprinted his way to the Pro Bowl.
