As we just mentioned with Brees, Devonta Freeman and the Atlanta Falcons face the Saints in Weeks 14 and 16.
In 2016, the Saints allowed 19 rushing touchdowns, ranking 28th in the NFL. And Freeman absolutely destroyed New Orleans in the teams' two matchups last season. Here's a look at what he put up, plus how it translated to half-PPR leagues:
Rushing Yards | Receiving Yards | Touchdowns | Fantasy Points | RB Rank |
---|---|---|---|---|
152 | 55 | 0 | 29.20 | 1st |
96 | 81 | 1 | 26.20 | 2nd |
In Week 15, Atlanta has a matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs only allowed 15 rushing touchdowns in 2016 but were still generous to running backs, allowing 117.2 rushing yards per game, which ranked 22nd in the league.
The two games between Tampa and Atlanta turned into shootouts last season. Their first bout reached 55 total points, and their second game reached an astounding 71 points. This all adds up to one of the most promising Week 14 to 16 slates among all rushers in 2017.
Matt Ryan and Julio Jones should benefit from this fantasy playoff schedule too.
