It's no secret that the New York Giants have been awful against tight ends this year, allowing the league's second-most targets, second-most receptions and most fantasy points per game to the position.
The 22.0 fantasy points per game they're allowing to tight ends is significantly higher than even Rob Gronkowski's league-leading 16.0 per game.
Antonio Gates hasn't seen a ton of volume, but he does have five targets in each of his last two games and has seen 25% of the Chargers' red zone targets this year.
The Chargers have also been the league's most pass-heavy team inside the 20, giving Gates has plenty of touchdown upside. The Giants' glaring weakness against tight ends will likely mean a bump for both his volume and efficiency numbers this week.
