It feels so easy to write Matt Forte off each year due to his age, but he just keeps fighting his way back onto the field. He's already battled through a turf toe injury this year, and while his brief absence sparked a competition in the backfield, he's still posting over 10 fantasy points per week since returning.
Forte just refuses to give up, so we shouldn't be so quick to give up on him. Forte rushed 7 times for 41 yards -- at a nice 5.86 yards per carry clip -- and drew a team-high 5 targets over the weekend. He converted those targets into 5 receptions for another 41 yards, putting together a performance that was good for 10.7 fantasy points in half-point PPR leagues.
If you're in a position where you need a running back and you can't get picky, don't overlook Forte. He might be an aging back on a weak, yet shockingly only 3-4 team, but his involvement in their offense is cemented. His receiving work should keep him on the field in blowouts, and his efficiency on the ground helps to pad his fantasy stats.
