This is the week -- we promise!
It's been a long six-week layoff for Corey Davis, the prized rookie receiver of the Tennessee Titans who has been out since Week 2 with a hamstring injury. But following their Week 8 bye, Davis looks set to return to the practice field this week and potentially to game action this upcoming Sunday.
It's worth reminding the viewing audience that Davis saw 10 targets in his only full game of the season back in Week 1, notching 6 receptions for 69 yards and looking like the best receiver on the team. And that's after he missed most of the offseason due to injury.
The truth is we have no idea how good Davis can be or how much this team is wanting to use him. But we all remember the season Odell Beckham had as a rookie after missing the first four weeks with an injury. It's certainly foolish to predict that kind of outcome for Davis, but it's also rare to find such talented players on the waiver wire at this point in the season, especially ones who seem primed to command a large market share of targets right away.
For rosters who have a spot available for a stash player, Davis is certainly worth gambling on.
