While Melvin Gordon still led the Los Angeles Chargers backfield with 21 touches against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10, Ekeler was the more productive back. He turned his 10 carries into 42 yards and caught all 5 of his targets for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gordon had just 42 total yards.
It is noteworthy that Ekeler did not see any carries at the end of the fourth quarter or in overtime following a late fumble in regulation, but his production prior to that certainly provides reason to be optimistic. With double-digit touches in two of the past three games, Ekeler now provides some standalone value, particularly in PPR leagues, and he is certainly worth an add for anyone who can afford to use a roster spot on him in case Gordon is forced to miss any time over the remainder of the season.
