Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
5 Rushes, 87 Yards, 1 Touchdown
6 Receptions, 101 Yards, 6 Targets, 1 Touchdown
Performance Score: 100
We are running out of superlatives to describe rookie New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, who continues to dominate as both a runner and a receiver despite limited touches. He was electric again on Sunday against a difficult Los Angeles Rams defense, posting 188 combined yards and 2 touchdowns on just 11 touches!
He began his work on Sunday with a 74-yard touchdown run off the right sideline, outrunning most of the defense before breaking a tackle inside the five-yard line. And he never let up, posting a Performance Score of 100 and perhaps solidifying his case for Rookie of the Year (sorry, Kareem Hunt).
Kamara currently has the top Elusive Rating according to Pro Football Focus, which measures a runner's success beyond the point of being helped by his blockers. In terms of fantasy football, he now has gone six consecutive weeks scoring as an RB1 and has just four fewer fantasy points than Le'Veon Bell despite 181 fewer touches.
In a year rife with impressive rookie running backs, Kamara continues to be the most impressive.
