Alvin Kamara is your top performer of the week! Rinse and repeat...
For the third time this season, the Saints rookie was the most effective running back in the league, posting a perfect 100 Performance Score for the second week in a row. Against Luke Kuechly and the Carolina Panthers defense, Kamara went off for 126 total yards and 2 touchdowns on just 14 touches.
He just couldn't be brought down, consistently bouncing off contact, falling forward, and, of course, finding the end zone. Through 13 weeks, Kamara is averaging 8.4 yards per touch, by far the highest rate for any running back over the last 25 years. For context, Darren Sproles is second at 7.6 and Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk is third at 7.1
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the third rookie in NFL history with 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in five straight games, joining Eric Dickerson and Franco Harris. In short, we are witnessing one of the greatest seasons in NFL history by a phenom who is also likely helping a great number of fantasy teams into the playoffs. Enjoy it!
