In two games since taking over as the San Francisco 49ers' starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo has completed 65.71% of his passes for an average of 313.5 yards per game. He did throw just one touchdown pass compared to two interceptions in that span but managed another touchdown on one of his two passes thrown in the game prior to becoming the starter.
Garoppolo's efficiency not only leads the league currently, but it also represents a significant improvement over the two quarterbacks to start the 49ers' previous 11 games of the season.
Among all 50 quarterbacks with 25 or more drop backs this season, Brian Hoyer (-0.08) and C.J. Beathard (-0.15) rank 37th and 45th, respectively, in terms of Passing NEP per drop back. That pair also combined for a 1-10 record before Garoppolo took over under center.
With Garoppolo set to be under center again in Week 15, the 49ers are currently favored by two points over the Tennessee Titans, who have intercepted just 10 passes all season and rank 26th in pass defense by our metrics.
