Writers on the beat in D.C. are banging the drum loudly and consistently for the Alex Smith-to-Jamison Crowder connection. Smith finds himself in Washington after a breakout season in Kansas City, and he appears to have found a new favorite target.

While the Chiefs certainly had more explosive options than Washington does, Smith may find more depth in his offensive weapons in the nation's capital. Given his typical preference for a low average depth of target (a trend that was bucked in 2017), Crowder makes perfect sense as a chain-moving weapon for Smith.
Jamison Crowder has been a consistent target for Alex Smith so far in camp. The two already have a chemistry and Crowder just made a long catch, beating Montae Nicholson.

Crowder could hog targets this year, and Smith is a nice late-round quarterback option. The arrow for both is pointing in the right direction.
