From a current Packer to a former Packer, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jordy Nelson also needs to be dropped in fantasy leagues.
Sure, he’s the second receiver on the team, but he’s actually the fourth receiving option so far in the 2018 season. Tight end Jared Cook has dominated the passing looks for the Raiders thus far, with Amari Cooper and running back Jalen Richard rounding out the top three.
Nelson has been left with a disappointing 11.3 percent target share (80th-best among NFL wide receivers). Worse, he’s getting used as a low-upside possession target, with his average target distance at 8.5 yards from the line of scrimmage (61st among receivers). Shockingly, Nelson is still able to get good separation from his coverage, with his 1.9 yards of separation per target the 18th-highest mark this year, but the Raiders simply aren’t looking his way with the ball.
This is one player on this list I could see improving with his offense as the season goes along, but I’d be very fine with dropping him in a shallow league where higher-upside options are available on the waiver wire.
