Another rookie running back, Nyheim Hines may not have guaranteed backfield carries either, but his arrow is decidedly pointing up with a rising role in the Indianapolis Colts' passing game.
Case and point, Hines' 4 carries for 10 yards against the Houston Texans obviously won't move the needle, and frankly we already knew this Colts running game was a dumpster fire. However, with Jack Doyle out again and T.Y. Hilton suffering a hamstring injury on Sunday, Hines would go on to catch 9-of-11 targets for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns. Now we're talking.
Particularly in PPR leagues, we'll happily take that kind of usage, and with the Colts playing on short rest this Thursday night against the New England Patriots, Hilton isn't expected to be back in time and Doyle could sit out again as well, which likely means another heavy workload in the passing game for Hines.
