5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 8
DeAndre Hopkins ran his streak of regular-season games with at least 50 receiving yards to 17 in a row. Which other notable stats can you take away from Week 8?

Rob Gronkowski Recorded Another Nondescript Fantasy Outing

There were a whopping 17 receiving touchdowns scored by tight ends in Week 8, the most from the position in a single week all season. None of these were scored by Rob Gronkowski, which is not surprising considering his only score of the 2018 season came back in Week 1.

Gronkowski is still playing well on a per-play basis, according to our metrics. Of the 11 tight ends with at least 40 targets in 2018, he has the second-highest Target NEP per target (0.49) as well as the fourth-best Reception NEP per target (0.83). However, with his lack of scoring, he is only the TE9 in PPR scoring.

Things might not get any easier for Gronkowski in Week 9 despite what should be a high-scoring game between the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers . The Packers have given up just 6 combined receptions to tight ends across their last three games, and those grabs went for a total of 58 yards. The days of Gronk having an unmatched ceiling among tight ends may be over.
